Preserving Paradise: A Conversation about Suburbia, Sustainability and Climate Change was first exhibited as part of Weather Report: Art and Climate Change curated by Lucy Lippard for the Boulder Museum of Art.

The conversation is centered in San Diego County. Color postcards include text from a series of interviews with old time residents of what until recently was a rural area, new home buyers, planners, government officials, activists and developers. Black and white postcards present small excerpts of this text with additional room for participants to share their comments. Earlier versions of this work were presented as performative lectures that focused on the effectiveness of activist’s response to proposed development.
