SAN DIEGO PALESTINIAN JEWISH DIALOGUE

dialogue.jpg

From roughly 2000-2003, first one and eventually several groups of Jews and Palestinians living in San Diego met in dialogue, to listen and learn from each other. Integral to the dialogue process was not only listening to each other’s stories, but acknowledging what we heard, even if it contradicted truths that we had grown up with and held dear. After several of us sat for hours for a television interview that was predictably cut to a couple minutes, I discussed the option of documenting our process, eventually creating a book, installation and web site. All materials were shared with each individual represented for approval before posting.
