When a City Turns its Back on its River is an accordion-folded book documenting a walk along the north and south shores of the San Diego River. The text along the north shore details the challenge of physically walking along the river, including the difficulties of gaining access in many places. The text following the course of the south shore poses a series of questions about how San Diegans might reenvision their relationship to their river. Completed 2002.

Russian Lessons is series of five books made in the form of a matrioska, each fitting inside of the other. Show here are the back side of four of the books.
